Morning Gooners! Saturday is finally here. It’s been a long wait this one. The game last weekend left us all feeling a bit empty and lost and when that happens, I don’t know about you, but that always leaves me counting doing the days to the next game, when we can put it behind us. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that this is probably the biggest game of the season that we’re waiting for!!
I understand the downbeat feeling that many Gooners are going through right now, comparing where we are now to where we were, but today is all about putting all of that behind us – the good and the bad. I firmly believe that if we win the next 5 games, we will win our first league title in 22 years. That’s huge. That’s something that we couldn’t have dreamed of a few years ago. We’ve thrown this title away a couple of times (probably more!) yet it’s still in our hands to win. Bearing in mind the horrendous results we’ve had of late, I’ll take that.
So here we’re are then. The first of 5 games, in this ‘mini-league’. We have to win. There is no alternative. We have to start well and get this new phase of the season off to a good start.
